Love Playing Dressup

pitch letter

Love Playing Dressup is a fashion & lifestyle blog based out of the Boston area. Love Playing Dressup features inspirational content that is relevant to current and up-coming fashion & lifestyle trends. I interned as the marketing assistant for Love Playing Dressup in summer 2015. My primary responsibilities included marketing research and outreach. I developed a dynamic set of research techniques and gained valuable insight regarding fashion & lifestyle topics. I learned how important research is in strategic communication, which is a concept I applied to my work. The documents I produced demonstrate my ability to communication clearly and professionally. Wish Upon a Wedding

rhetorical analysis

Wish Upon a Wedding is a non-profit organization that works to sponsor dream weddings for couples in need. Non-profit organizations rely on strong communication in order to be sustainable. Techniques used in this type of writing can be applied to all areas of strategic communication because they produce the direct and effective results. I researched the organization and wrote a rhetorical analysis on Wish Upon a Wedding to learn how an understanding of public interest and keen sense of audience awareness lead to successful rhetorical communication. This document shows that I am able to carefully analyze various elements of communication and draw conclusions to produce thoughtful and thorough work. Click here to view my rhetorical analysis.

Red Cedar River: Water Carnival

communication strategy

The Red Cedar River is a landmark on Michigan State University’s campus. MSU used to host a Water Carnival every year, which was an event that celebrated the Red Cedar River. Although, the Water Carnival has not taken place since 2005 because it was not bringing in a sustainable amount of revenue. I worked with a small group to create a communication strategy aimed at reviving this unique event. The project taught me how to identify a problem, recognize opportunities for improvement and effectively communicate a possible solution.
